Fred's Star Wars The Clone Wars Reviews: Dooku Captured arc
Jedi knights Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi launch an attack on Count Dooku's command frigate, forcing the count to flee, until he is captured by Weequay pirates. Although the Republic attempt to pay the ransom to get him back, They are double crossed and the two Jedi must work together with the count to escape.
Dooku Captured

PROS: The banter between Anakin and Obi-Wan is quite funny. Pirate captain Hondo.
CONS: Guess who saves two of the most skilled Jedi knights in the order? Ashoka Tano.
The Gungan Genrell

PROS: The clones in this episode are well developed and interesting. Pirate captain Hondo.
CONS: Jar-Jar Binks. The attempts of the Sith and Jedi to escape the pirate base become down right pathetic.

Fred's Star Wars the Clone wars reviews: R2 lost arc
During the battle of Bothawui, R2-D2, who contains the Republic's military plans, is lost in space. both the Republic and CIS attempt to hunt him down, while Ashoka and Anakin have to deal with his replacement.
Downfall of A droid

PROS: The Republic uses tanks to attack Separatist capital ships. That was really awesome.
CONS: R3-S6 could only be a more obvious traitor if you literately wrote traitor him.(?) also, Ashoka is (big surprise) annoying.
VERDICT: 5/10
Duel of the droids

PROS: For anyone who was annoyed by season 1 Ashoka, it is very satisfying to see her lose against Grievous. Also, the action gets some upgrades from last episode.
CONS: R3-S6 was a bad guy? really? I never would have guessed.
VERDICT: 6/10

Fred's Star Wars the Clone Wars Reviews: Clone Cadets
This is actually the first in a story arc that stretches all the way to season six. However, since they focus on such different aspects and because there so far apart, I will judge this one by itself, as it comes quite a bit before the others. This episode focuses on domino squad, a group of clones training to become ARC troopers.
Clone Cadets

PROS: This episode gives us the second (after Hidden Enemy) into the clone army. And the clone they focus on are actually pretty interesting.
CONS: There is two action sequences in the entire episodes, both training drills.
RATING: 6/10
FINAL VERDICT

I am probably focusing on the action to much, even for a show with the word "war" in the title. However, the episode is pretty interesting and a nice semi-drama that sets up the characters of domino squad for the rest of the series. All in all, a good episode.

fred's star wars the clone wars reviews: the film
um...yeah. what can you say about the movie? well...i suppose its not as bad as it could have been. and it WAS the first three episodes of the series adapted into movie form, so its technically a pilot, were the production team were trying to find their feet. that being said...
The Movie

PROS: the movie sets the standard for the rest of the series, with beautiful animation and fight scenes. the plot is ok, if rather standard.
CONS: the story IS kind of bland. more importantly the characters are not only STUPID, but they are at some of there most ANNOYING behavior in the series.
RATING: 3/10
FINAL VERDICT

my final verdict is that the movie is...not that good. if you want to introduce someone to the series do not start with this, start with one of the episodes from the later seasons, or at least something from season 1. the movies plot isn't that bad, and the action is up to par for clone wars. but the characters are so outright ANNOYING its hard not to dislike them. that's it for this review, hope to see you in the future, reviewing a much better episode.

fred's star wars the clone wars reviews: Christophsis arc
for those of you who don't know, the first two and a half years of "clone wars" were not released in chronological order, which is why im reviewing these first instead of the movie or "ambush".
the first two episode chronologically, the christophsis arc contains "cat and mouse" which has the jedi using a new stealth ship to take down the spider-like admiral trench, and "the hidden enemy" which focuses on the hunt for a rouge clone who betrayed the republic, believing himself and his brothers to be slave. all though the story is continued in the feature film, that's a review for another day.
Cat And Mouse

PROS: admiral trench is a surprisingly good villain, and the space battle scenes are quite sophisticatedly done, especially for a animated show.
CONS: the villain is taken out by his own tracer missiles which is quite ridiculous for such a supposedly brilliant villain. also, the stealth ship utilized in this episode is never seen or heard of again.
FINAL RATING: 6/10
The Hidden Enemy

PROS: again, the fight scenes are a wonder to look at. this episode also has the distinction of being one of the first episode to toss aside the humor, and focus on how effective the battle droids can be in numbers.
CONS: the entire driving conflict, whether or not the clones are "slaves" of the republic, is nether actually addressed or resolved.
FINAL RATING: 5/10
FINAL VERDICT

my final verdict of the christophsis arc is that is pretty good. there is some really cool action scenes and the moral issues (resolved or not) in "the hidden enemy" makes it one of the best episodes of the first season. all in all, these are two good lead ins too the movie.
