Fred's Star Wars The Clone Wars Reviews: Toydaria Arc

We have finally arrived at the first episode of the series proper!  Although the first episode here actually starts the "Ryloth Arc", but it also includes the beginning of the arc centered on Toydaria, so it goes here with "Ambush". The first episode centers on Bail Organa trying to get resources to the trapped Republic forces on Ryloth. The second episode centers on Master Yoda attempting to run a diplomatic mission to King Katuunko, which devolves into him facing an entire droid army.

Supply Lines

PROS: Jedi Master Ima-gun Di (Despite his unfortunate name) is a cool charector, and the parts on Ryloth are very well done.

CONS:  The segments on Toydaria are mostly boring politics (Get used to that in Clone Wars), and Jar-Jar Binks plays a major roll in the episode.

RATING: 7/10

Ambush

PROS: I am not that big of fan of Yoda, but it is still cool to see him stomp a droid army. Also, the clone characters are rather nicely developed.

CONS: No matter how powerful Master Yoda is, it is still underwhelming to see Ventress literally defeated with a wave of the hand. The battle droids "humor" has started to grow thin as well.

RATING: 5/10

FINAL VERDICT

After the film centered on people rescuing a Hutt baby, and "Clone Cadets" on rookies back on Kamino, this is the first arc to get back to the war part of the show. The result? a pretty enjoyable two parter with great action, if childish at times.
